USPA NEWS - Monday evening, our first campaign meeting of the year was held at the legendrayBobino Theater. We were more than 1200 to embody a new breath for Paris. The faces of our campaign were present with Parisians, our list leaders, our partners (UDI, Mouvement Radical, Agir) and personalities. On stage Olivia Gregoire, Marlene Schiappa or even Pierre-Yves Bournazel successively spoke and ignited the room! As for me, I denounced the state of emergency in which the city finds itself in front of the balance sheet of Anne Hidalgo. This state of emergency is social, environmental and democratic. Benjamin Griveaux the official candidate of LREM (Party of majority, founded by President Emmanuel Macron), running for the {paris elections, to be held on March15-22nd, this year, and used to be the spokesperson of the French Government, before resigning to dedicate his full time for the election campaign in Paris. His challenger Cedric Villani, who is not the official party of LREM, has been expelled recently form the same party for declining Griveaux's offer to make an alliance inside the same party. Cedric Vilani became the first dissident in LREM, who is now running the same campaign, on his own

"Monday evening, our first campaign meeting of the year was held at the Bobino Theater. We were more than 1200 to embody a new breath for Paris. The faces of our campaign were present with Parisians, our list leaders, our partners (UDI, Mouvement Radical, Agir) and personalities. On stage Olivia Grégoire, Marlène Schiappa or even Pierre-Yves Bournazel successively spoke and ignited the room"! Benjamin Griveaux announced ! "As for me, I denounced the state of emergency in which the city finds itself in front of the balance sheet of Anne Hidalgo. This state of emergency is social, environmental and democratic. A state of social emergency because Paris makes its middle classes flee, loses its inhabitants and no longer protects its traders: 11,000 Parisians leave the city each year. My observation is clear: real estate is becoming more and more expensive, housing is more and more scarce, the quality of life is deteriorating, security is deteriorating, traffic is impossible. The first affected are the middle classes, mothers who raise their children alone, or young couples who want to start a family. This is why our ambition is to allow those who love Paris not to leave it. And that it protects the most fragile rather than chasing them away from it." acknowledges Benjamin Griveaux. A state of environmental emergency because the mayor of Paris has concreted instead of planting the city. We condemn this communication ecology and call for more action. Paris is a hyperdense city. If we do not act, it will become, with global warming, unbreathable. Many challenges are therefore to be met for Paris: green spaces, pollution, mobility, etc. A democratic state of emergency because the Parisians are too little associated with decisions, like the mayors of the arrondissement. We must give them back power because they are the ones who know their neighborhoods and its inhabitants. Parisians should also be consulted on matters that concern them, such as major development issues." Benjamin Griveaux added------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are proposing a “new democratic pact“ so that everyone is a decision-maker and that decisions are taken in complete transparency. I called the rally to allow this renewal. This gathering, it has names, is embodied in faces, translates into ideas. It is driven by one and the same goal: that of restoring the taste of Paris to those so many who have lost it. Coming from different political backgrounds, you have chosen to join us to bring the alternation to Paris. Finally, I told the Parisian walkers that we have seven weeks left to get together. Seven weeks to add up our differences and make it a force that will wipe out everything in its path. So let's mobilize each day to breathe new life into Paris! Benjamin Griveaux stated. Source : LREM
